ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO MAKE BUILD IN SYSTEM RECOVERY FOR YOUR LAPTOP
Today i would like to share with you in how to make your own built-in system recovery on Win 7 OS.
Intro
As we know, most laptops sold in the market have its own recovery system. For example, the manufacturer Lenovo has called the One-key system recovery. The system has its own disk partition that has been created by the manufacturer.Unfortunately when there is damage to the hard disks such as mechanical damage or electronic systems such as short test failed on the hard disk, the damage is covering the whole partition including the recovery partition. So with no other option we had to buy a new hard drive to replace it. To restore system recovery partition, only the manufacturer can do so. If you have a warranty, send it to them. If your warranty has expired, this is an alternative way to create the recovery partition.
Requirement
Below are things to do before creating system recovery:
- New fresh windows already installed with drivers, software (eg Office, Antivirus and others). Please take note, the more software you install more space you need. just enough basic needs.
- Windows 7 installation disk. If not, create a system repair disc by clicking Start> Control Panels> Backup and Restore> Create a System Repair Disk and burn it. I prefer to use System Repair Disk to reduce space usage.
- Space partition at least 30GB. Depend software that installed on your system
- EasyBCD software
Follow the step below
- Insert the windows 7 installation disk or system repair disc.
- Copy all the items in the disk into the system recovery partition.
- Run EasyBCD. Create boot - New entry> WinPE>Rename boot (eg. Reovery)>Path>Browse Recovery partition>Source>Boot.wim>Open>Add Entry
- Edit countdown time - Edit Boot Menu > Change time (in sec) > Save Settings
- Uninstall EasyBCD if you do not need such change countdown time. If you need just leave it.
- Disconnect the internet connection before making system recovery. Prevent software updates during the process. Close all application.
- Create system image - Start> Control Panels> Backup and Restore> Create a System Image
- Tick On a Hard Drive. Select recovery partition and System partition only (eg. C: Drive)
- Wait till finish . (20-30min) depend on your system. Done
How to protect the recovery partition from the user accidently modified (eg edit, delete and format) the partition:
- Right-click on recovery partition > Properties > Security > Edit > Set all permission user account include administrator to READ-ONLY > OK
- Right-click My computer > Manage > Disk Management > Right-click Recovery Partition > Change drive letter and path > Remove.
Now you have your own system recovery. No need to bring your recovery disk or windows installer.If the system partition windows corrupted or want to re-format the windows partition, just boot into recovery and load a system image system that you have created earlier. No need to install drivers one by one and application.

The Compaq Armada M300 Series of Personal Computers is an ultralight 3.1 to
3.3 pound (1.4 to 1.5 kg) computer (depending on configuration). It allows users high mobility, provides a full set of system ports, and when paired with the optional MobileExpansion Unit (MEU), transforms into a full-function portable with enterprise docking capability.

Features of Compaq Armada M300 Series
The computer has the following features:
- Intel Pentium III 500-MHz, Intel Pentium II 333-MHz, or Celeron 450- or 333-MHz processor, with 256-KB integrated L2 cache (Pentium III or II) or 128-KB integrated L2 cache (Celeron), depending on computer model.
- ATI RAGE LT Pro, 4-MB SGRAM (synchronous graphics).
- Standard 64-MB high-performance synchronous DRAM (SDRAM), expandable to 512 MB.
- Dual preinstall of Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows 98 or Windows NT Workstation 4.0 and Windows NT 2000 preinstalled*.
- 11.3-inch XGA CTFT (1024 × 768) and 11.3-inch SVGA CTFT (800 × 600) displays with 16 million colors, depending on computer model.
- Keyboard is 95 percent of full-size with TouchPad pointing device.
- Full set of ports on system (serial, parallel, USB, Infrared, VGA)
- Mini PCI 56K V.90 modem, or optional Mini PCI V.90 plus 10/100 NIC combo card.
- One Type II PC Card slot with support for both 32-bit CardBus and 16-bit PC Cards; zoomed video support.
- External AC adapter with power cord.
- Lithium ion (Li-ion) battery packs.
- Optional: 6 cell, 40 Watt hours (externally attaches to computer)
- Optional: MultiBay (for mobile expansion unit)
- High-capacity SMART hard drives, 12.0-, 6.4-, and 4.3-GB, with DriveLock security and Prefailure Warranty, depending on computer model.
- Ultraportable form factor, 0.89 inch (2.3 cm) thin with weight starting at 3.1 lb. (1.4 kg), depending on configuration.
- Standard external diskette drive (attaches to system through the parallel port or fitsinto the mobile expansion unit diskette drive bay).
- Optional Mobile Expansion Unit (MEU) conveniently adds:
- Flexible MultiBay that accommodates: 24X MAX CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive, SuperDisk LS-120 drive, weight saver, second Li-Ion battery or secondary 6.4-GB hard drive.
- Additional ports: parallel, serial, audio in/out, VGA, USB, PS/2 (2), AC power in, CPUconnector, docking connector.
- Stereo speakers providing Compaq PremierSound 16-bit stereo sound
- Robust, common enterprise docking solution.
Computer External Components:
1. Display switch: Turns off the computer display if the computer is closed while on.
2. Scroll lock light: On: Scroll lock is on.
3. Caps lock light: On: Caps lock is on.
4. Num lock light: On: Num lock is on and the embedded numeric keypad is enabled.
5.Hard drive light: On: The primary hard drive is being accessed.
6. Diskette drive light: On: The external diskette drive is being accessed.
7. Internal microphone: Supports audio input when the display is open or closed.
8. Suspend button: Initiates and exits Suspend.* When pressed with the Fn key, initiates Hibernation.
9. Windows application key: Displays shortcut menu for item beneath mouse cursor.
10. Battery light: - On: The battery pack is charging.
- Blinking: The battery pack, that is the only available power source, has reached a low-battery condition.
11. Power/suspend light: - On: Power is turned on.
- Off: Power is turned off.
- Blinking: Computer is in Suspend.*

How to Clearing Password:
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Disconnect the computer (Section 5.4).
3. Remove the battery pack (Section 5.6).
4. Disconnect and remove the Real Time Clock (RTC) battery (Section 5.10).
5. Wait five minutes.
6. Reconnect the RTC battery.
7. Reconnect the AC Adapter. Do not reinstall the battery pack yet.
8. Turn on the computer.
2. Disconnect the computer (Section 5.4).
3. Remove the battery pack (Section 5.6).
4. Disconnect and remove the Real Time Clock (RTC) battery (Section 5.10).
5. Wait five minutes.
6. Reconnect the RTC battery.
7. Reconnect the AC Adapter. Do not reinstall the battery pack yet.
8. Turn on the computer.
NOTE: Remember to set the date and time the next time the computer is turned on.

4 Simple Steps to Clean a Laptop Screen
Cleaning your laptop screen or monitor is not hard since you can you your household products to do it. You dont have to buy a LCD cleaning products since
1. Turn off your laptop or LCD/LED Monitor :
Remove any power source such as power chord to avoid the electricity flow.
2. Create Your own Cleaning Solution.
You can simply use plain water, but it is better to mix it with organic solution such as vinegar. If you worried about the vinegar smell, replace it with perfume . (I always use perfume, just make sure use a very small amount, you dont want to work with strong smell, trust me!).
3. Remove Dust by using Dry Lint and Brush.
First just wipe your screen without solution, just use Lint, and then use paint brush to remove dust and clean the screens edge.
3. Use Lint-Free Cloth or Your old T-shirt
It does not really matter what type of household item your want to use to wipe the LCD or screen, just make sure it is smooth and do absorb water. Apply a small amount of water or solution we created, make sure it is not too wet. I prefer to use empty spray bottle, the wipe your screen gently. (dont use excessive force to wipe because it could damage your screen pixel).
4. Final Touch
Again by using dry Lint Cloth wipe your screen again to remove any excessive solution/water on your screen.
Summary:
Im not a very careful guy, normally I just spray some water and let it there for 1 minute, then wipe with my old towel. I did this for about 7 years for both my laptop and my LED monitor.
